The PG Forever download includes 4 versions-. Earl of Grey Guest. Ah, that brings back memories I never was really good at it, but then I played it when I had no real concept of strategy or battlefield tactics. Guess I'd do much better now! That game is how mTk hooked me on computer games in the first place. Before that, I was a board gamer. You know, eventually I got to be very good at PG.

Imagine my surprise, and now concern, at having been beaten 4 straight times in the first Polish scenario! I mean, I haven't even really come all that close to any kind of a victory yet!

It seems to me the Polish defenders are more numerous and now place their arty in much better defensive positions. One or two times I made me the fun and played so that I could play the maximum numbers of battles - means You had to lose on the right place to go through many more battles.

Only one unit has 4 and a half star. Then there was definitely no more battle to fight. Step 1: Go to the classicreload site. The strategies are sound, but the complex game play had me looking for something simpler. This isn't a game you can simply pick up and play. Panzer General isn't for novices. Its depth and detail are for experts only.

I had to look through the manuals and really read up to get a good teel for this game. I'd say that even those who like strategy sims might have a tough time. There are a lot of neat features and complex strategy to the point of almost being too hard to get into. The more mundane features, such as graphics and controls, are decent.

I would recommend this game only to serious war ragers because its realistic and complex scenarios are tough to handle. Panzer General is your basic strategy game: a scheme to conquer the world, lots of planning, and innumerable tedious movements.

The PC-to-3DO translation is decent, but, as with other war strategy games, you have to be more into thinking than playing. The graphics are minimal and repetitious; the mission backgrounds vary, but the same battle scenes crop up in every single fight. The sound is equally second-rate. The score consists of the same ten bars of classical music repeated over and over until you want to scream.

As for control, it's merely satisfactory.
